Family Promise/IHN

What is it?

First, Interfaith Hospitality Network (or IHN) is one of the primary ministry programs that stems out of Family Promise of Colorado Springs. Currently, the IHN we are a part of is comprised of 20-30 churches in the local area. Each of these congregations offer 4 families shelter, food, rest, and fellowship for either 3 or 4 weeks a year.

How did FBC get connected?

We were one of the first congregations to be approached by Family Promise of Colorado Springs to gauge our interest in being a member of an Interfaith Hospitality Network. In the fall of 1997, we hosted our first full week of families and created a home out of our space. This year, our local IHN celebrates its 20th year of providing shelter and food to local families in need.

How can I get involved?

You can sign up to help host during our weeks of hosting to ensure our guests are greeted with warmth and kindness. When it's time, you will find a sign-up insert in your bulletin. Once complete, please place it in the offering plate. Also, you can contact Pastor Dan if you are interested in other ways of getting involved.

Who we ARe:

We are a historic American Baptist Church in burgeoning downtown Colorado Springs, where its members have been worshiping on the same corner since 1872. We are an ecumenically-minded body, partnering across denominational lines to serve the most vulnerable in our community. Our membership is comprised of people who spread the gamut theologically, racially, politically, and economically. FBC-CS strives to practice a tradition of inclusiveness in all we do.
