What is it?
First, Interfaith Hospitality Network (or IHN) is one of the primary ministry programs that stems out of Family Promise of Colorado Springs. Currently, the IHN we are a part of is comprised of 20-30 churches in the local area. Each of these congregations offer 4 families shelter, food, rest, and fellowship for either 3 or 4 weeks a year.
How did FBC get connected?
We were one of the first congregations to be approached by Family Promise of Colorado Springs to gauge our interest in being a member of an Interfaith Hospitality Network. In the fall of 1997, we hosted our first full week of families and created a home out of our space. This year, our local IHN celebrates its 20th year of providing shelter and food to local families in need.
How can I get involved?
You can sign up to help host during our weeks of hosting to ensure our guests are greeted with warmth and kindness. When it's time, you will find a sign-up insert in your bulletin. Once complete, please place it in the offering plate. Also, you can contact Rev. John-Mark if you are interested in other ways of getting involved.
