Godly Play

I wonder who told you stories as a child. I wonder what it felt like to hear those stories from someone you loved. I wonder if you smile when you remember how those stories made you laugh, cry, and think.

Godly Play is for Pre-K through 5th Grade and meets on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM).

What is Godly Play?

Godly Play is a curriculum based on the life work of the Rev. Dr. Jerome Berryman. Godly Play invites our children to wonder about the mystery of God for themselves. As they listen to stories, they are asked to think about what it may have been like in Biblical times or what lessons can be learned from the stories in the Bible. During our Sunday school hour, children are welcomed into a sacred space where they can listen to and wonder about stories, respond using a variety of art materials, pray together, and share a "feast" (small snack) while fellowshipping with others. During this time, children are learning the stories that are so important to our faith, all while encountering God and discovering God's call in their own lives. ​
