2009-2010
The American Baptist Women of First Baptist Church are nationally and regionally connected with the American Baptist Churches, but are uniquely designed to serve in and through First Baptist Church of Colorado Springs. This year’s theme, Striving To Meet Needs, combines with our great history of helping all of our church to reach out to local needs, national emphasis, and international outreach. We encourage and support our missionaries with prayers and needed goods while we stimulate interest and educational opportunities. We also feature, this year, reaching out to our own women to meet needs individually and as groups.
September 15 “Doing Day” is a workday to meet the needs of others. We will make and pack health kits for distribution to LaPuente Ministries in Alamosa.
Women’s Sunday September 21 will recognize the special ministry of women in our congregation.
October is a month of seeking God’s direction for purposely meeting a need of another women.
November 17 “Doing Day” Help dress dozens of Barbi dolls for Christmas and/or help with a mission project
December 5 is our annual Women’s Christmas Brunch. Each year it is a highlight event. Special guest: Tammy Maltby, author, Bible teacher and media personality will bring us Encouragement at Christmas. For reservations and childcare call the church office.
January – February we encourage each woman to do secret acts of kindness to meet needs.
March 7 –21 will find our women involved in neighborhood coffees, with Lenten studies, fellowship and refreshments.
April - we look forward to a Women’s Seminar My Family- My Treasure. Watch for the date.
June rounds out the program year with Tea and Crumpets, a Sunday afternoon tea party.
Along with these activities there are organized groups of women in the church who would welcome you to participate in fellowship and service. “Just Ask!” where you might meet a need with your voice and your hands. Or may we meet your need? |
